PLANT A TREE AND HELP A CHILD
Barbara purchased this small woodland in 2001 with a legacy from her Aunt Lottie, Nicky Winton's sister. Situated close to the River Wye at Goodrich it was originally named Poplands Wood and was the site of an old quarry.
We have decided to change the name to Wintons Wood in honour of Barbara Winton and Sir Nicholas Winton. Nicky was a keen gardener and tree planter and was a frequent visitor to our home in Herefordshire.
The woodland was well populated with Ash with some Sycamore, Oak and Chestnut. However many of the Ash trees have now fallen and much replanting is needed.
Plant a tree and help a child.: We are hoping to raise funds for our child refugee charities by sponsorship for the replanting of Wintons Wood.
